Torrey, Bicknell, Loa & Capitol Reef National Park Area

Torrey SchoolhouseThe Torrey Schoolhouse Bed & Breakfast was built between 1914 and 1916, the Torrey Schoolhouse operated as a school and cultural center from 1917 through 1954. Pioneer settlers began quarrying the huge red sandstone blocks measuring 36” deep by 18” high by 26” wide on average from an area just southeast of Torrey in 1914. They transported each stone by mule-drawn wagons to the site at the center of town. It took over two years to complete the stately schoolhouse building.

Walking distance from restaurants and shopping. The schoolhouse is a great venue for an anniversary or honeymoon as the rooms are exquisite. After a busy day fishing or hunting you deserve to relax in the heavenly massage-recliner with rolling action and footrest leg massager. Rooms also have flat screen tv's and satellite.

The Good - Good views, great organic breakfast included, satellite TV available, in-town so you can walk to restaurants and convenience stores, privacy, luxury. The Not So Good - In-town, keep your muddy boots away.

Chuckwagon Lodge & Motel

The Chuckwagon Lodge & Motel is located on mainstreet in Torrey, Utah. Just one mile off some of the lower sections of the Fremont River. Capitol Reef National Park is just 10 miles east on highway 24. Restaurants, shopping and the general store are all walking distance and you can enjoy the shade of the beautiful cottonwood trees as you stroll.

There is a motel and cabins as well as a general store, laundry, swimming pool, hot tub, wireless internet and satellite tv. Rooms are clean with plenty of space. Cabins have lots more space and a nice covered patio to hang your waders and relax.

The Good - Downtown, more people around, walking distance to restaurants, outdoor pool, shade, patio, satellite tv. The Bad - More people around, less privacy, less scenic views.

Torrey Pines Inn B & B The Torrey Pines Inn is a Bed and Breakfast located 1 mile outside of downtown Torrey, Utah. Just a couple miles from the lower Fremont River, this is a great lodging option for fishing the area as you and your guide can get on the water quickly. Restaurants, shopping, gas stations and convenience stores are all within a mile of the Torrey Pines Inn.

This is a very private facility with nice amenities. As it was built very recently, suites are clean with plenty of space, satellite TV and private bathrooms. The house has three cozy suites with breathtaking views from each. Two rooms have king-size beds and one has a queen-size bed. All units have a private entrance with a large veranda to relax and enjoy spectacular scenery and sunsets!

Also available- The Cottage with two bedrooms. The main floor has two twin beds, bathroom with shower, full kitchenette with utensils, refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, dinette, covered patio and porch, heating and air - conditioning.

Pine Shadows Cabins The Pine Shadows Cabins are located in Teasdale, Utah and at the base of the Boulder Mountains. Just one mile off some of the lower sections of the Fremont River and a major trailhead to various lakes of the Boulder Mountain. Restaurants, shopping and gas are just a short 3 mile drive from the cabins.

Located in a Pinion Pine Forest and ensconced against the shadows of coral Navajo sandstone bluffs, Pine Shadows Cabins offers an ideal solitary retreat to travelers visiting Capitol Reef National Park and other nearby treasures.

Each of Pine Shadows' spacious chalet-style cabins is fully equipped for the long stay, and is perfectly suited to those planning family gatherings. The cabins are extra large, 16 by 28 feet, and have high beam pine ceilings and a ceiling fan. The spacious cabins have two queen beds and a television with VCR. Bathrooms have bathtub with shower, a vanity basin, and a separate dressing table. A kitchen affords each guest with the option of cooking in or eating out. The kitchen includes sink, range, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, small refrigerator, glass table with chairs, and cooking and eating utensils.

The Good - Great for groups to hang out, great price, patios, satellite tv. The Bad - Nothing!.

Boulder, Escalante, Panguitch, Bryce Canyon National Park & Escalante Grand Staircase National Monument Area

Slot Canyons Inn The Slot Canyons Inn Bed & Breakfast is located in the town of Escalante which lies on the western edge of Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, a picturesque region of canyons, arches, plateaus and cliffs. Located at the mouth of a private canyon with a stream that flows with cool, clear waters from the highest plateau in North America. Wildlife abound in the canyons and don’t be surprised if from your room you see wild turkeys, deer, and many of the wild animals native to this region.

Built in 2006, this B & B is as luxurious as it gets. Some rooms include jetted tubs and showers as well as king beds, fireplaces and many other comforts. You will have to check out their website to get a handle on just how nice this facility is. Close to many Boulder Mountain lakes and streams for the fly fisher as well as world-class scenery at every step.

The Good - Great for large or small groups, much to do close-by, patios, in room TV/VCR/DVD and much more. The Bad - A little warmer during mid-summer, but high elevation forests and lakes are literally just minutes away.
